Evening Bath Salts
A scoop of this in a hot bath is one of the simplest luxuries there is. Make a jar for yourself and one for a friend.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Epsom salt
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
- 15–20 drops bergamot essential oil
Steps
- Whisk the Epsom salt and baking soda together in a bowl.
- Drizzle in the sweet almond oil, whisking to break up clumps.
- Add the essential oil and whisk again until evenly scented.
- Funnel into a jar.
- Add 1/2 cup per bath, swirling to dissolve.
Storage
Sealed jar away from moisture, up to 6 months.
⚠️ Safety notes
- The oil makes the tub slippery — step carefully.
- Patch test; avoid broken skin.
- Bergamot can increase sun sensitivity — keep this one a nighttime ritual.
Patch test every new body recipe on the inside of your forearm and wait 24 hours before full use. Stop using anything that irritates your skin. Essential oils in leave-on products stay at a 1–2% dilution — a little truly goes a long way.
