Fizzy Bath Bombs
The fizz never gets old. These take a little practice to mold, but even the crumbly ones work beautifully.
Ingredients
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1/2 cup citric acid
- 1/2 cup Epsom salt
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons sweet almond oil, melted
- 1 tablespoon water
- 15 drops lemongrass or bergamot essential oil
Steps
- Whisk all dry ingredients together, breaking up every lump.
- In a separate cup, whisk the oil, water, and essential oil.
- Drizzle the wet into the dry VERY slowly, whisking constantly — it should feel like barely-damp sand.
- Pack tightly into molds, overfilling slightly.
- Let dry in the molds 24 hours, then unmold and dry 1 more day.
Storage
Airtight container away from humidity; use within 1 month for best fizz.
⚠️ Safety notes
- Keep citric acid away from eyes.
- Slippery tub — step carefully.
- Patch test; skip on broken skin.
Patch test every new body recipe on the inside of your forearm and wait 24 hours before full use. Stop using anything that irritates your skin. Essential oils in leave-on products stay at a 1–2% dilution — a little truly goes a long way.
