Poured Beeswax Container Candles

Real beeswax candles smell faintly of honey and burn with a warm, steady light. Making them is easier than you'd think.

🧪 Makes: About 3–4 standard 8-oz candles per pound of wax.

Ingredients

Steps

  1. Anchor a wick in the center of each jar.
  2. Melt the beeswax in a pouring pitcher set in simmering water.
  3. Cool to about 150°F, then stir in essential oil if using.
  4. Pour slowly into the jars, keeping wicks centered.
  5. Cool undisturbed for several hours until fully set.
  6. Trim wicks to 1/4 inch before the first burn.

Storage

Cool, dry place; keeps indefinitely.

⚠️ Safety notes

  • Never leave melting wax unattended — wax can ignite.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4 inch to prevent smoking and high flames.

Never leave burning candles or melting wax unattended, and keep all open flames, hot wax, and fire starters away from children and pets. Trim candle wicks to 1/4 inch before each burn.
