Solid Lotion Bars
Lotion without the bottle. These melt on contact with warm skin and are wonderful for hands, feet, and elbows.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup organic beeswax pastilles
- 1/3 cup organic shea butter
- 1/3 cup sweet almond oil
- 10 drops cedarwood or bergamot essential oil (optional)
Steps
- Melt everything except the essential oil in a double boiler.
- Remove from heat and stir in essential oil if using.
- Pour into silicone molds or a lined tin.
- Cool at room temperature until fully firm, about 2 hours.
- Pop out and wrap individually.
Storage
Cool spot (not the fridge), up to 1 year. They soften in heat.
⚠️ Safety notes
- Hot mixture — handle with oven mitts.
- Patch test; discontinue if irritation occurs.
Patch test every new body recipe on the inside of your forearm and wait 24 hours before full use. Stop using anything that irritates your skin. Essential oils in leave-on products stay at a 1–2% dilution — a little truly goes a long way.
